Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge: Day 6 - Fall Ombre

The last day :(

I've had so much fun with this challenge. I lot of these were something I had never done before, and made me think outside the box!

Today we had a choice of a gradient or an ombre... since I just sponged with fall colors on day 5, I decided to go with the ombre!

These pics look a little blurry on here... annoying, they were crisp in the photo editor! You know I had to add some sparkle.

Light to dark: China Glaze Champagne Bubbles, China Glaze Riveting, Zoya Elisa and China Glaze Vertical Rush.

Be sure to check out the other girls and show some love for all the hard work they did over the last two weeks!!!

Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge: Day 5 - Leaves

Day 5! One more day and our fun little challenge is over! Kind of makes me sad!

I decided to have some fun with sponging, with the fall color of leaves. Im not totally happy with today's mani... but its not horrible!

I started with a yellow base, then sponged the orange and finished it with the maroon.

I used Avon Nailwear Sunshine and Tangtastic and Zoya Toni. Then I hand drew the leafless tree with e.l.f. cosmetics Smokey Brown.

Be sure to check out the other awesome bloggers joining it!

Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge: Day 4 - Back to School

Im totally a day late!! I did not have internet access all weekend. It was horrible. I did have book two of the Song of Fire and Ice series to keep me distracted (now on to book three!)

Today is Back to School... we have officially transitioned from summer to fall in the challenge! Yay!

I kept today pretty simple. I thought about going all out and doing something different on every nail; but then I got one apple done and I loved it... so I did more! Haha

I used Zoya Rekha and e.l.f. cosmetics Smoky Brown for the apples, and the chalkboard is Zoya Evvie. The white accents are OPI Alpine Snow.

Be sure to check out the creations from the other amazing bloggers joining in on the fun!

Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge: Day 3 - Rainy Days

Here is the halfway point of our challenge!!

Today is Rainy Days. Well, here in Arizona there is no such thing as rain without an awesome lightening storm. Since I've been dying to try my hand at lightening, I thought this was the perfect time!

AHHH! I love it. The definitely aren't perfect, I will need to practice. But I am super pleased with how they turned out! And can I tell you how much I am loving my lightbox?! Awesome!!!

I used Ulta Nina Pro Black for the base . Then I sponged in OPI Purple With  a Purpose, Fingerpaints Blue Raspberry Tart and Sinful Colors Cream Pink (in that order). OPI Alpine Snow  was the finishing touch for the lightening with a bit of sponging around the top (where the lightening lit up the clouds).

Review 365 Days of Color Hocus Pocus Collection

I am so excited to bring you these swatches! I am even more excited for these to go on sale so I can buy the whole collection in full sized!!

Sunny at 365 Days of Color decided to base her Halloween collection off of Hocus Pocus, one of my favorite Halloween movies (right up there with Nightmare Before Christmas). She sent me two to swatch and show to you guys!

First up, I Smell... Children.

This is one coat over black. It is a beautiful grey jelly with small and large purple glitter. It is AMAZING!

The formula was lovely, and the glitter is very generous in one coat. Two coats would add even more dimension, but I was super pleased with one, so I stuck with it. I wore this mani on my trip to San Diego last weekend. It lasted 4 days wonderfully.

Next up,  Black Flame Candle.

This one took 3 coats for full coverage. You could probably put this one over black for the same effect if you don't have the patience for 3 coats. Its a dark grey jelly base that turns black with 3 coats. The shimmer was hard to capture, but it's actually blue/green with some hints of pink/purple... not silver as these pictures would lead you to believe.

The formula on this one was great too. I had no problems controlling it... and I love that I never have a problem with thickening while using it with 365 Day's of Color's nail polish.

I am actually wearing this one right now... I have a Jason Aldean/Luke Bryan concert tonight I am rocking this one to! Yay!

These are going on sale tomorrow at noon Pacific time (so 3pm for you East coaster gals). They will be $8 for full sized, and $4.50 for minis.

365 Days of Color's shop is here. Be sure to follow her blog and Facebook for updates as well. I may or may not have seen some sneak peeks of things she is working on... and I may or may not be telling you that you do not want to miss them!! :D

**These items were sent to me for review. I was not paid for this review. All opinions are my own and are an accurate representation of my experience with the products.**

Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge: Day 2 - Beach/Tropical

Yay for day two!! I am much happier with my mani today than I was with Monday's. It's amazing what I little more time can do for you! Haha

I am also SUPER excited today because I finally made myself a lightbox!! Why didnt I do this sooner?!

I had a lot of fun with this.. even writing mine and my awesome hubby's initials in the "sand" as people so often do when they visit the beach!

I used a eight colors: China Glaze For Audrey (sky), Ulta Set The Nude (tan), e.l.f. cosmetics Smoky Brown (palm tree/accents), Avon Nailwear Sunshine (sun/beach ball), Nina Ultra Pro Black (bird), Zoya Rekha (beach ball), OPI Alpine Snow (beach ball) and Sinful Colors HD Nails (palm tree).

To add a bit of dimension to the sand, I sponged a bit of the dark brown under the tan... since sand is never perfect. Im loving the subtle effect it gave!!

There is a long list of super talented ladies joining in on this challenge! Be sure to check them out as well!

Falling Forward Nail Art Challenge: Day 1 - Neon

AHHH! Im so late... I love escaping town, but sometimes vacations just aren't worth the hassle!

So my wonderful friend Kim at College Polished decided to do a fun fall challenge! Here is the breakdown of what to expect over the next couple of weeks:

There are a TON of amazing bloggers joining in the fun...

College Polished
Tall Girl in Heels
Nail Polish Anonymous
DIY Polish
XO, Noelle
Galactic Lacquer
Princess Polish
Munchy's Nails
Pishposh and Polish
Beyond Beauty Lounge

Jilltastic Nail Design

So since I got home so late last night, I had to rush through to get my neons done after work today... I decided to try a new technique to me - tie dye! But I did not have time to practice and make them perfect, so I am not thrilled with the outcome. Still pretty though!

I clearly did not have time enough to let my white dry... But, alas it was the best I could do with the time I had! I will do better on Wednesday with my beach nails!

I used OPI Alpine Snow, Sinful Colors Cream Pink and China Glase Japanese Koi.

Have you tried the tie dye technique? Hopefully you were more successful than me! Haha
