I have decided that my camera hates orange. Which makes me sad, because China Glaze's Riveting is so pretty!

This is as clear as they got. Sad! Anyways, I decided to keep it pretty simple today! I dont even get to wear them passing out candy tonight, I have swatching to do! I'll just have to put a pretty indie on when Im done!

As I already mentioned, the base is China Glaze Riveting. If you've been following me for long, you know I have a love affair with Riveting. It is the perfect orange!

The webbing was done with my black Stripe Rite. I freehanded them. I wanted them to come from different points on the nail, just because it makes it interesting!

Again, please go check out the contest album on my Facebook page later today. Once I get all the entries, I will post them and the one with the most likes come Sunday at 9pm PST wins!

Here is Arizona, we are known for our gorgeous sunsets. So much so, that the top half of our flag is supposed to represent one! Im still not sure if being proud of our beautiful sunsets that are so beautiful thanks to pollution is really a good idea; but, they are pretty, none-the-less!

That being said, I decided to do a sponge gradient to recreate my favorite variation of our sunsets. The best sunsets have pink and purple in them, and Im actually super duper proud of how it turned out!

I started off with Zoya Kimber, and then sponged the bottom third of my nail with Avon Sunshine. Then I sponged Deborah Lippman Footloose over the yellow, and then highlighted a bit of yellow back over top the the orange. It seems involved, but man did it turn out nice! I sponged Zoya Suri on the top third... Then to finish it off I sponged some kimber over top of the Suri to give it the gold shimmer and delude the extreme of the purple a bit. This is by far my most impressive sponge gradient! Love it!

I used my black Stripe Right to free hand he black tips and create the silhouette of the graveyard. I waited like, 2 hours, to top coat. I was so worried! It did smudge a bit on my middle finger, but that isnt so bad!

Now, what to do for black and orange? hmmmm.....

Living in Arizona, the first thing I think of when I think spiders is black widows. They are our most em-famous, I grew up hunting them!

I used Zoya Elisa, 365 Days of Color Black Flame Candle for my bases and OPI Alpine Snow; along with my Black Stripe Rite for the finer details.I contemplated adding eyes to the spiders on my pointer finger, but thought it may make it too cartoon-y. I couldn't put eyes on my ring finger spiders, because the hourglass dot is on her belly, so that would be her underside!

The sugar spun web on my middle finger is my interpretation of a black widow web. They dont make standard, pretty spun webs. They like dark holes and tight spaces like those of a wood pile. The black widow likes to hang out at the back of that tight space with a whole mess of web, spun in every direction, between her and the unsuspecting victim.

Another fun fact, after mating the female black widow kills the puny little male. Happy Halloween! Haha!

Today is another challenge day I intentionally chose to make this difficult on myself and push my skills! And again with the freaking smudging! Im going to Sally's this weekend to get some Seche. Ugh!

So, I did a different design on each nail again... Just doing all witches would be boring!! And can we just talk about how perfect Deborah Lippman's Almost Paradise is for a witch skin tone? How lucky was that?! All of the black on the witch was accomplished with my Stripe Rite black striper... warts and all!! The white is OPI Alpine Snow.

I used my Nina Ultra Pro Black and free handed the shape of her caldron and taped (I hate tape) the shape of her hat. I sponged some white with OPI Alpine Snow and added some swirls with Stripe Rite silver striper to have it boil and bubble. And added some glare to the outside of the cauldron with Alpine Snow as well. The broom handle is e.l.f. cosmetics Smoky Brown and I mixed some Avon Nailwear Sunshine to make the broom bristles.

Have a wonderful weekend! I have a party at my mom's bar to go to tomorrow! There's a haunted tour! Excited!

I really need to get some Seche for my black and white nail art... I try not to use it since it has the bad chemicals, but it doesnt smudge and ruin my mani at least :(

I started with Zoya Freja as my base... its my fav shiny grey! I cant say I am thrilled with my ring finger, wish I had just put more ghosts!! But, I was trying to switch it up! I used my Stripe Rite Silver to write "boo" and my black and clear glitter Stripe Rites to make the spider web.

OPI Alpine Snow was used with a few different sized dotting tools and my striper art brush to create the ghosts. I used Nina Ultra Pro Black to dot their little eyes.

Oh, and the ghosts glow. Wanna see?

LOOK! I captured it... kind of... haha! Ghoulish Glow works freaking awesome by the way. If you dont own it, you should.

I was in a huge rush to get these done and didnt wait long enough before top coating... stupid white smudges! Oh well, C'est la vie!

So, since there's no candy without a trick or treat, I thought it was fitting. I know, candy corn, so original! But, in all fairness, I did add my own spin by taping off my nail to make the real candy corn shape (and I hate tape manis, so that counts for something... right?)

I used my Nina Ultra Pro Black (Seriously, its cheap at Sally's and its a one coat black. I love it!). Then I used my nail art brushes to write out the words with OPI Alpine Snow. This was not easy... and I painted my right hand black because... well, you wouldnt be able to read it anyways! Haha

I free handed the candy corn, other than the angle of naked nail that was taped. I started with OPI Alpine Snow, the Deborah Lippman Footloose and finished it with Avon Nailwear Sunshine.

Other than the smudged white, I love it! :)

See you tomorrow with my ghosts that will glow in the dark! Hopefully I can capture it!

8 Spooky Nights Day 2 - Vampires

I was loving all the skulls yesterday! Today was a trickier one for me. I included this one to push everyone's boundaries... because there isnt a whole lot of vampire nail art out there (trust me, I googled looking for inspiration... not a lot haha)

Without further ado, I introduce my vampire!

OMG, I cant even tell you how happy I am with these!! This is exactly what I had in my mind, and it's the BEST when it translates onto my nails how I see it in my mind! It either works wonderfully (example above) or it fails miserably. Im not going to lie, I stressed out all day yesterday thinking about what I was going to do if I failed! Hahaha

I used Ulta Set In Nude as the base for the first three nails and Nina Ultra Pro Black on my pinky. Whimsical Idea's by Pam Boo was added over the Nude on my middle finger to give my vampire an eerie, vampire glow.  Then I used Barielle Elle's Spell for the blood drips, and my Stripe Rite silver striper to make my cross and topped it off with a red rhinestone.

For the vampires face I used my Stripe Rite black stiper for the thin line details and OPI Alpine snow for the white of his eyes and his teeth. Tipping the teeth off with my LA Art Deco red striper.

I cant get over these... I sure am going to be sad to take these off tonight to do my candy for tomorrow!!

Today is Skulls! I decided to keep it pretty simple since we have so much to get through over the next eight days!

I used OPI Alpine Snow, Nina Ultra Pro in Black and my Stripe Rite black nail art striper. I also waited for 45 minutes before I top coated it, knowing full well what black on white it like... and it STILL smudged. ugh.

I almost made this one glow in the dark, but didnt want to add another layer (excuse me, my lazy is showing haha).

China Glaze It's Alive

This is from China Glazes 2011 Halloween collection. I got this bad boy out of the clearance racks at Sally's last November... I have used it a couple of times in nail art, but never actually worn it... seems like a fitting occasion, right?

China Glaze Its Alive

It took two coats for full coverage, and like always with China Glaze the formula was lovely. I am loving this polish, and I'm so glad I snagged this last year!!

Halloween Nail Art - Jack-o-Lanterns

Happy Monday (if there is such thing)!

I am loving October right now... Halloween nail art is the best!!

I used China Glaze Riveting (the most amazing orange ever). and put a different little face on every nail.

I used different dotting tools and little striping brushes with my Nina Ultra Pro Black to create the faces.

AHH!! I am so excited about Halloween nail art! Don't forget I am hosting a nail art challenge starting next Monday! There is info on the challenge at the bottom of my Frankenstein post here.

LynBDesigns Review

I have a very special post for you today. LynBDesigns was kind enough to send me a couple of their Halloween polishes to show to you all!

First I would like to discuss her bottles...

How freaking adorbs are these?? I love the brush handle, it fits wonderfully in your hands. The brush is a little wide, so if you have small nails you may struggle a bit (but its not as bad as some OPI brushes)

First up is Burning Leaves. This took 3 coats for full coverage of glitter awesomeness. I didn't have any problems with the formula. It was smooth and wasnt too thick of too watery.

There are so many kins of glitter, I cant even tell you all of them! Big black hexes are sprinkled in, medium gold squares plus all sorts of fall colors in micro-glitter. One coat of Essie Good To Go smoothed it out, so the glitterbomb isn't a top coat eater.

This is Poisoned Soup and I LOVE this one. It's just awesome. There is a lovely gold shimmer that I could capture on camera. This is two coats for full coverage. Once again, I had no issues with the formula.

It's a lovely yellow, shimmery base packed with gold and green micro-glitter. I'm actually sad I didn't have time to wear this one a little longer. I love the green glitters sprinkled in!

You can purchase these polishes from her Etsy shop here. She has a TON of choices, they cost $8.50 each. You should also follow her on Facebook here!

**These items were sent to me for review. I was not paid for this review. All opinions are my own and are an accurate representation of my experience with the products.**

365 Days of Color Boouk!

Let me just premise this post by letting you know my feelings for neutral polishes. I hate them. If Im going to have my nails neutral, why bother painting them? Well, I am eating those words today...

RIGHT? Holy amazing!! This is two coats of Boouk! over one thin coat of Ulta Set The Nude. Honestly, I these pictures really do not do it justice, at all!

It went on like a dream, the formula was easy to work with... and the copper hexagon, small gold square and copper micro-glitter went on with ease. I had no issues making it cover the whole nail evenly.

I LOVE the copper glitter. Being from the copper state (Arizona) I have a soft spot for copper :)

I guess I have to be fair to all neutrals now that I have found one I actually like. Of course, I also love Hocus Pocus and Halloween, so maybe this will be a fluke! Lol

I have a ridiculous amount of 365doc polishes... Ive barely shown you any! I love them so much!! What is your fav 365doc pretty?

Halloween Nail Art - Blood

Hey ladies!!

I have another, super easy Halloween nail art for you today! Just a quick post!

I used OPI Alpine Snow as my base and just used some big and little dotting tools to create the blood using Zoya Rehka. I did not top coat the blood, I top coated after the white base... that way there was a bit of a raise on the blood! And Zoya's are so wonderful, they don't need a top for amazing shine!

Like I said, super quick on today. I have a TON of stuff to share with you in the next week and a half... then after that I have a nail art challenge!!

If you want more info, scroll to the bottom of my Frankenstein post here.

I am so excited for Halloween!!!!!! :D

Halloween Nail Art - Mummies

I have more nail art for you today! These guys glow in the dark; even though I found it nearly impossible to capture with my lame old camera!! Do you have glow in the dark picture tricks? If so, please share!! I have a lot more glow in the dark planned before Halloween!

I started with my white LA Color Art Deco striper polish to freehand the mummy's wrapping gauze. Then I used a striping brush and went over it with China Glaze Ghoulish Glow to make it glow!

I used Zoya Rehka and dotted the eyes... red seemed more fitting, since their eyes have to be soooooo dry! Haha! And then finished it off with smaller black dots.

Awesome, right? OK, so imagine the mummies glowing as bright as the bottle, because that's what it's like in person. The camera got too distracted by the bottle glow and detracted from the nail's glow. But, without the bottle there wasnt enough light for the camera to pick up the nails at all. Grrrrrrrrr!

I like these ones better then Frankenstein!!

I'm a part of a HUGE Halloween Trick or Treat Giveaway with 28 total prizes up for grabs. Click here for more details :)

A-England Tristam

Happy 100th post!!

I wanted to use an extra pretty polish for an extra special post... what is more special than a holo?!

Be still my beating heart!! This was two silky, smooth coats to gull coverage!

This lovely deep blue with rainbow holographic, silver shimmer wore really, really well. I wore it for 4 days with minimal chipping.

I put one coat of Essie Good-To-Go for a lush shine that really made it pop!

And of course, if you really want to see the rainbow there is nothing like a nice, bright sun (which I am rarely lacking in here in the desert).

You can this directly from A England... but she is in England (duh) so shipping can take a while and it can be a bit expensive. You can also choose to snag it through Overall Beauty. I have ordered many indies from her without fail! She is wonderful!

I'm a part of a HUGE Halloween Trick or Treat Giveaway with 28 total prizes up for grabs. Click here for more details :)
