Deborah Lippmann - Let's Hear it for the Boys

Who could turn down the opportunity to snag two Deborah Lippmann's for only $10?? Amazing deal!! So, I snagged them up.

This was my first DL...

I must say, I was actually a bit disappointed with the formula. I didn't feel like it self leveled well at all... the only thing that saved it was my top coat! It did only take two coats for full coverage...

I think the color that you see in the bottle is actually more of an accurate hue. It isn't quite as bright as it appears on my nails.

I am not a huge cream polish kind of person... but I have to say I enjoyed wearing this color. I got a few compliments (including a nail tech at my hair salon, who even complimented my nails shape too! We sat and talked for like 20 minutes about polish lol). The durability was nice too, I wore this for five days (although I probably should've taken it off on day four, but I was lazy lol).

Do you think any polish is worth $18??

  1. In general, no, I don't think any polish is worth $18. I DID pay that much for a Lippmann--Mermaid's Dream. I like it, but I still don't think it was worth that much. I kind of feel bad for buying it.

I have the Let's Hear it For the Boys, too, but I bought it on clearance from HSN. I haven't used it yet, because I'm not a huge fan of creme polish either. This one is a pretty blue, though. :)

    1. It is very pretty for a cream. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it!!

      Thanks for reading :)

  2. Wow that is a great deal 2 for $10, I'd have picked it up, too! I'm cheap, lol. No way I can justify spending 18 bucks on one bottle of polish no matter how obsessed I've become with it! LOL! I am crazy about this color, would you say it can be compared to Cinderella by Spoiled? That's more in my price range. Plus I love the shimmer I've seen in swatches. Thank you!

    1. The big difference between this one and Cinderella is the finish. It doesnt have the pink shimmer. However, the formula is better... because it didnt take 3 to 4 coats for full coverage!!

I would say, if you own Cinderella and are super happy with it... there is no need for this one!! :)

  3. I'm sorry it's by Sinful Colors. Spoiled is another favorite brand of mine.

  4. That's a lovely color on you! Bummer about the formula issues. Not sure if that's worth $18, but it's definitely worth the 2 for $10 deal you got! ;-)

    1. I was just expecting so much more for how much they charge for this when it's not on sale!! The color is very flattering, but not unique enough to justify the cost!

      :D
